Validation checklist
Before you send us a winning ad, check:
- One person is on camera for most of the ad
- The product is physical, large, and easy to see on screen
- One person only, mid shot, always in frame
- The person is close to the camera, not small in a wide shot
- Clothes have no faces or people printed on them
- Face is clear: no hands, hair, or objects covering it
- No hard cuts, transitions, or big light changes
- The clip is short and in the best quality you have
- Logo and product text are readable
- No captions or text on top of the person
- One clear voice, no loud music over it
- Your affiliate is the same gender and nationality (same accent) as the person in the ad
Also skip: wearables the person puts on, and travel or sports ads.
Fit
What works for a Delivery, and what we don't recommend
What works for a Delivery
- Physical e-commerce products that show well on camera. Tech works best.
- One person, mid shot (waist or chest up), looking roughly at camera.
- Steady camera, good light, simple background.
- Short clips, no cuts or transitions.
What we don't recommend
- Clothes and accessories worn on the body (shirts, glasses, watches, jewelry): the product sits on the person we change, so it can get lost or warped.
- Travel and sports: lots of motion, scene and light changes, and the person leaves the frame.
The details
What can block a Delivery, one by one
01Ads with almost no person on camera
- Avoid
- Hands-only or product-only ads.
- Why it fails
- YPH works by replacing the person in your winning ad with each affiliate. If nobody is on camera, there is nobody to replace.
- Check
- One person is on camera for most of the ad.
02Clothes with faces or people printed on them
- Avoid
- Shirts or other clothes with photos, drawings, or faces.
- Why it fails
- The system can treat the print as another person and leave a hole in the clothes.
- Check
- Plain clothes, or prints with no faces.
03The person covers their face, moves fast, or leaves the frame
- Avoid
- Hands on the face, objects crossing in front, fast turns, the person leaving and re-entering.
- Why it fails
- The system tracks the person frame by frame. When it loses them, the swap fails or leaves bad spots.
- Check
- The person stays visible for the whole clip.
04Several people in the shot
- Avoid
- Two or more people, or a crowd in the background.
- Why it fails
- The system can pick the wrong person or mix two faces.
- Check
- Only one person on screen.
05Too far, too close, or odd angles
- Avoid
- The person far from the camera in a wide shot, face filling the whole screen, full profiles, camera from very high or very low.
- Why it fails
- The swap works best in a mid shot. If the person is far away, their face is too small to swap well. In a tight close-up or full profile, the match to your affiliate drops.
- Check
- Mid shot, person close to the camera, face and upper body filling a good part of the frame.
06Hair, glasses, and hatsUnconfirmed
- Avoid
- Loose hair that moves or covers the face, glasses with glare, hats that hide the forehead.
- Why it may fail
- Hair edges and glare are hard to cut cleanly. The swap can leave pieces of the original person.
- Check
- Clear face. If your affiliate wears glasses in their photo, the person in the ad should too, or neither should.
07Light changes, cuts, and transitionsUnconfirmed
- Avoid
- Flickering lights, jumping from indoor to outdoor, cuts and transitions inside the clip.
- Why it may fail
- Each hard change forces the system to find the person again and breaks continuity.
- Check
- If the ad has several shots, send each shot on its own.
08Long clips
- Avoid
- One very long continuous shot.
- Why it fails
- The longer the clip, the more that can go wrong, and the more it costs and takes. Short clips work better.
- Check
- Keep the ad short and direct.
09Low-quality video
- Avoid
- Low-res downloads, heavy compression, blurry or dark files.
- Why it fails
- We deliver at 768. If the original has little detail, we can't add it back, and tracking gets worse.
- Check
- Send the original at the best quality you have.
10Tiny products and tiny logos or text
- Avoid
- Products that take up little of the screen, and products whose value is in tiny letters or logos.
- Why it fails
- At delivery size, a small product has almost no detail. It can vanish, warp, or look pixelated. Same for small logos and text.
- Check
- The product is large and clear on screen, and the logo is readable.
11Text and captions on the videoUnconfirmed
- Avoid
- Captions, labels, or emojis on top of the person.
- Why it may fail
- The system can treat them as part of the person and warp them.
- Check
- Send a version with no text on top. You can add text after.
12Voice, music, and lip syncUnconfirmed
- Avoid
- Loud music over the voice, voice-over with no one speaking on camera, several voices at once.
- Why it may fail
- We use the audio to guide mouth movement. If the voice is hard to hear, lip sync gets worse.
- Check
- One clear voice, from the person speaking on camera.
13Affiliate with a different gender or accent
- Avoid
- Using the ad with an affiliate of a different gender or nationality than the person in the ad.
- Why it fails
- We keep the original voice and audio of your ad. If your affiliate's gender or accent doesn't match that voice, the result is hard to believe.
- Check
- Same gender and nationality (same accent) as the person in the ad.
Winning ad FAQ
What is a winning ad?
Your real ad that is already performing well, and that you want to use with YPH. Passing this checklist is a separate step: that is ad validation for YPH Deliveries.
What is ad validation for YPH Deliveries?
Checking whether your winning ad will work as a YPH Delivery before you spend a delivery on it.
Does this only work for TikTok Shop?
No. The same checklist applies on any short-video platform where real affiliates post from their own accounts.
What is a YPH Delivery?
A YPH Delivery is a digital sample YPH creates from your winning video ad with each affiliate's identity, posted from the affiliate's own account with the platform's AI label.
Is this fake AI influencers?
No. Real affiliates, real accounts. Never fake personas. We change the person in your winning ad; the affiliate posts from their own account.
What if my ad fails one of the "Unconfirmed" points?
Send it anyway if the rest of the checklist passes, and tell us which point worries you. We are still confirming those four.
